AWCON 2018: 18 Foreign Players Expected In Super Falcons Camp This Week

Super Falcons head coach Thomas Dennerby has told sports journalist that the foreign invited for the pre AWCON preparation are expected to arrive their camp in Lagos, Nigeria this week.Coach

Dennerby who invited a total of  48 players for camping exercise has clarified that there was no way he could have that large amount of players in camp at the same time, stressing that only the best among the locally based players will be selected to join the foreign based players in camp.

  • ” I think were some kind of mistake, off course we cannot have Forty- Eight players in camp at the same time,everybody involved in football understand that it is different camp but the names were sent at the same time ” explain Dennerby.

Now we have the first camp with local players then we have to see who from the local camp will join the eighteen foreign based players camp that will start on Monday 29th of October.

” Then we will now have a squad of Twenty-six to Twenty-eight players for the last week Until November 4,when we pick the final Twenty-one  players and then everyone else have to leave the camp.

Nigeria are drawn in group B of AWCON 18 with Kenya, South Africa and Zambia, the Super Falcons will play their group games in the city of Cape coast with the opener against South Africa on November 18.
