Ajuma Ottache the coach of Goodland Rangers FC, incidentally the only woman coach in the Nationwide league one passed on to Glory on the 10th of November 2018.
The coach who had been battling a rare muscular disease which resurfaced while on national assignment during Flamingos last qualifying matches in Benin city died midday on Saturday.
According to a reliable sourcewho was present with Ajuma when she passed on in her words
“I and everyone thought she had overcome the last phase of this physical and emotional draining ailment.
We had talked about our plans for Goodland Rangers for the new season and had looked forward to her quick recovery” she stated further explained that it had been a rough journey from one hospital to the other since December. She did fight a good fight but God knows the best.
“I had come back from Ebonyi for this shocking development, I am indeed sad and in shock. I saw her take her last breath, it is well ” he concluded.
Ajuma donned the colours of Nigeria both in the age grade and super falcons. She won Gold in South Africa AWCON, represented Nigeria during the Olympics in 2004 and the All Africa Games in Abuja.
She was until her death one of the best qualified female coaches Nigeria ever had. A CAF B licence, UEFA badge B and a Diploma with the NIS.
She is survived by her husband and three children.
