Dennerby: We are Satisfied With Our Preparation And Can Beat South Africa

Super Falcons head coach,Thomas Dernneby says he is happy with the team’s performance so far and is prepared for tomorrow’s final against the Bayana Bayana of South Africa.

Speaking exclusively to journalist, the Swedish born tactician said the team is better than the first game and is well organised to play attacking football tomorrow.

“I know that we are probably better now than we were in the first game because now we had almost two and half weeks to work with the team, we are doing better and better, we had a very good training yesterday, as everybody understands we work alot with our attacking play. For the moment, we are very solid, our defence is very good, it’s really hard to score Nigeria, I guess other teams don’t like that because it’s always tough to play teams that are well organised and tough to score.”

Coach Dernneby hinted that the team will show to the world tomorrow that they can play attacking football as that will be key in tomorrow’s victory even as there may be one or two changes to the team tomorrow.o

“I hope that when we come to the game tomorrow, we also come show the spectators and Nigerians that we also can play good attacking football against the best teams because we played good attacking games against Zambia and Equatorial Guinea, South Africa was okay but not more, last game against Cameroon was okay not more but if we want to win the best teams we also need to have good attacking performance and that is most probable important for tomorrow’s game.”

“We are not sure yet, but of course when we come at this stage now, it’s not so many changes but maybe there can be one or two not more than that.”

On the aspect of injury in the team, Coach Dernneby said there are no injury worries in the team as all players trained yesterday. He however called for support from fans and supporters as the trophy is the team’s priority.

“Support us and we will do whatever it takes to bring the Cup back to Nigeria.”
