Kakuri Academy bounced back from one goal down to beat Ikhana babes of Rigasa 2-1 to win the 2017/18 Bet9ja Kaduna State Community Development Youth Club Association (KSCD YOCA) league tittle with 7 points from three matches after the last round of the Super 4 playoff matches were decided this evening at the Kaduna township stadium.
Coach of Kakuri Academy, Al Ameen Ibn Musa praised his charges positive attitudes all through the playoffs,’ “I want to congratulate the players for a job well done. our supporters are not left out for coming out in their numbers to support us all through the playoffs.
“We had our different game plan and approach towards every match and it’s the second time that we came from behind to claim all three points after sharing the spoils in our first match against Gamji Academy. I have told the players to put this success behind as we begin to prepare for next season, he told news men.
President of KSCD YOCA, Nasiru Adamu (Chiji) expressed satisfaction with the standard of play of the four clubs who emerged from the two groups of the regular season and was also thankful to all the dignitaries who graced the closing ceremony,’ “I must commend the high standard of football displayed by the four clubs who made it to the Super four. Indeed Kaduna State is the home of talent and I want to urge all the professional clubs in the state to look inward for their recruitment ahead of next season.
“we have made history in our own little way by luring top football administrators, ex Internationals and other stakeholders to the closing ceremony in other to give these young men a sense of belonging.
“Let me once again thank the owner of Remo Stars FC and Bet9ja, Mr Kunle Soname who has in the last two years given us tittle Sponsorship deal. Without a doubt, Bet9ja KSCD YOCA is the best organized grassroots development league in Kaduna State with about one thousand five hundred youths in both divisions benefiting directly and we pray that he will continue to identify with us and football development in the state for a long period of time.
Dignitaries who were in attendance of the colourful event include: Kaduna State FA chairman, Hon. Sharreeff Kassimu, Hon. Sabo Babayaro, Marafan Gonin gora, Alh. Kabiru Abubakar Danladi, Hon. Shehu Adamu who represented Isa Ashiru Kudan (Kaduna State PDP Governitorial candidate). Other dignitaries present are: Tijani Babangida (Presidential aspirant, NANPF), Ibrahim Babangida, Engr. Yusuf Abubakar (Best), Sani Abdullahi (Wallin Kakuri and chairmanship aspirant, Kaduna State Football Association), Kaduna State SWAN chairman, Mr Benjamin Isaiah, Mallam Niga and many more.
Kakuri Academy were presented with a cheque of one hundred and fifty thousand naira (150,000), medals and other individual awards for emerging league winners, while Ikhana babes, Gamji Academy and FC Gunners who finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively also got consolation prizes.
