The opening season of Nigeria Professionals Football League will commence on Sunday as planned with the exclusion of the four promoted teams as the four promoted teams of Bet9ja NNL have been know today.
With Bendel Insurance, Gombe United, Kada City and Remo Stars gaining promotion to the NPFL after the final Group games today, the LMC chairman Shehu Dikko have revealed that the league will commence as planned.
The LMC chairman also said the four promoted teams from the Bet9ja Nigeria National League, NNL will not partake on match day one as they will be given time to rest as the NNL playoff will be concluded on Thursday and League will kick off on Sunday.
The four promoted teams will begin thier league campaign on match day two which will hold in midweek.
The league which was scheduled to hold on November 24 last year after the 2017/2018 season was concluded on match day 24 due to the inability of beating the CAF deadline of submitting CAF representatives have been chaos after the NNL clubs refused promotion playoff and want promotion of all 8 teams before things were settled have see postponing and different dates of resumption.
