A South African club is set to complete the signing of former Ghana U-20 goalie Eric Ofori Antwi.
The Medeama SC first choice goalkeeper is set to land himself a lucrative deal in South Africa after several seasons in the Ghana Premier League.
He has previously played for Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko and other clubs in the domestic league.
According to report, the undisclosed South African football club are requesting a permanent deal with the player for an amount of $1.0 million.
Should the in-form goalkeeper join the South African club, his monthly salary will be around $349.22
Antwi, 24, having graduated from Red Bull Soccer to the youth team of Liberty Professionals was a key cog for his side in the domestic league following in the truncated 2017-18 Ghana Premier league season.
Footballghana.com understands that lack of football in the country for months rendered his move abroad stagnant.
However, he’s attracted interest from several clubs following his highly-rated performance in the ongoing Normalization Committee special competition.
Reports in the America media also suggest that an MLS club are eyeing a move for the young goalkeeper but are yet to make an official bid for the player.
The former Asante Kotoko gloves-man has only eight-months left on his contract with the club.
The standout goalkeeper had two offers from Europe, including Denmark and Sweden at the latter part of last year but with unknown reason, the deal fell-out.
