NPFL: Abia Warriors Brighten Hope Of Surviving Relegation As They Whip Heartland FC In Okigwe

Abia Warriors of Umuahia Brighten hope of Relegation survival with a 4-2 win over Heartland FC of Owerri in the oriental derby at the Okigwe Township stadium.

Heartland FC took the lead in the 11th minutes but their celebration was cut short in 13 minutes later as Ibrahim Olawoyin cancelled Nnamdi Egbutor 11th minutes goal.

Ibrahim Olawoyin got his brace on return of second half to put Abia Warriors in front before Jimoh Oni puts away Olawoyin’s assist to double the lead for Umuahia side in 6th minutes.

Heartland couldn’t hold the blazing Abia Warriors as Fatai Abdullahi’s free kick takes a deflection and lands in the back of Heartland’s net to make it 4-1 before Chigozie Igoh scored one for Heartland FC in late minute.

Abia Warriors are now 10th on Group B table with 24 points from 19 games Elkanemi Warriors in their next game while Heartland FC are 8th on log with 25 points from 19 games and travel to Nnewi to play FC Ifeanyi Ubah in their next game.
