Former Bechem United talisman, Abednego Tetteh, who now plies his trade with Real Kashmir in India has revealed that, the highest pay he received in Ghana when playing as a professional player is GH¢ 400.
The striker who scored 12 goals in the Ghanaian league in 2016 said that, he underated the Indian league when he left the shores of Ghana. According to him, Indian is a country noted for the playing of cricket so he underestimated the nation in terms of football.
He revealed that, India is a thousand years ahead of Ghana in terms of football infrastructure and the Ghanaian league cannot be compared to it. “A player who wins the man of the match award receives an amount of money equal to GH¢1,600 in Ghana, he told Zylofon TV in Accra -Ghana.
He revealed that, the highest paid player in Bechem was Ahmed Simba Toure of Côte D’Ivoire. However, he revealed that Bechem United as a team paid their plyers on time. He revealed the team owner rewarded players who performed exceptionally on match days with money.
