Akwa United comes from a goal down to beat FC Ifeanyi Ubah to move to the top of the NPFL Super Six Championship Playoffs.
The promise keepers were trailing at half time before they scored two goals in the second half to record their first win of the championship play off.
Emmanuel Ugwuka’s effort from just inside the box which goes past the despairing hands of Olorunleke Ojo gave the Anambra Warriors the lead at half time.
Few minutes into the second half Substitute Cyril Olisema roofs a rebound after FCIU GK Anozie saved Godspower Aniefiok’s left footed shot to get the equalizer for the Promise keepers.
11 minute later after getting the equalizer, Akwa United get a penalty, the first of this playoff tournament after defender Charles Okafor handles Ndifreke Effiong’s cross as Cyril Olisemah send Anozie to wrong way to score.
Akwa United next game will be against Enugu Rangers while FC Ifeanyi Ubah will be seeking for their first point as they will be against Kano Pillars on Saturday.
