FC Nantes forward, Abdul Majeed Waris has wished the Black Stars of Ghana well in their quest to clinch their fifth AFCON trophy.
The 27 year old who scored seven goals for Ligue 1 side, FC Nantes in all competitions in the just ended season was axed from the Black Stars squad early this week.
The player is reported to have boycotted the meeting coach Kwasi Appiah summoned to announce his squad. The former FC Lorient striker took to his twitter page today to wish the Black Stars well.
The player who has 31 caps for his national team has never featured for the Black Stars in any AFCON tournament. He got injured in 2015 and was not selected for AFCON 2017 by former Chelsea boss, Avram Grant. This is the third time he has been overlooked.
Ghana would begin their journey to clinch the AFCON tournament by locking horns with Benin on 25th June 2019 at the Ismail sports stadium.
