The Ministry of Youth and Sports of the republic of Ghana has awarded Dr. Kwamena Oboe Quansah, who was the team doctor for the Black Stars of Ghana in 1965.
As the Minister for Youth and Sports, Isaac Kwame Asiamah presented a cheque of GH¢39,500 to the veteran doctor in a short ceremony in Accra.
Having won the 1965 AFCON trophy when they hosted it, the state of Ghana rewarded members of the Black Stars but overlooked the veteran doctor.
The Minister took to his social media handles and posted, “I presented a cheque sum of GH¢35, 500 to Dr. Kwamena Oboe Quansah, team doctor of the 1965 Black Stars AFCON winning team after he was “left out” when the state rewarded the team for the success chalked.”
