Former Black Stars player, Opoku Afriyie also known as ‘Bayie’ has revealed to Ash FM in Kumasi about what the Black Stars of Ghana need to do in order to clinch their fifth AFCON trophy in Egypt.
The former Kotoko player said “Concentration is what the team needs at this point in their preparations ahead of the AFCON tournament”
Talking about the fitness of the team, the striker who also signed for Accra Hearts Of Oak in his peak also advised that, “The conditioning and fitness of the players must be paramount in their preparations because it will play a key role in our team”
“The old players in the Black Stars team should use their experience to help the new faces in the team and I know that will help the whole team as a whole”, the player who scored two goals in the final of the 1978 African Cup Of Nations revealed.
The top scorer of the Ghanaian domestic league in 1979 and 1989 also believes and hope that Ghana can win the AFCON trophy, but they should do away with fear and panic and have confidence in themselves.
“Ghanaians should support the Coach and his team because every player in the team is capable of winning the trophy for Ghana” He concluded.
