The Public Relations Officer for Ashantigold SC, Obed Asamoah has revealed Ashantigold is ready for their semi-finals clash with Karela United in the on-going tier one normalization committee special competition.
Speaking to Ghana -Accra Base Station Eye FM, he revealed “the team is very much prepared from the technical point of view, management point of view and from the supporting base”.
Speaking about his general impression about the competition, he said, “I didn’t see any seriousness in this tournament because a tournament without demotion, promotion is not interesting” According to him, the competition got interesting when the public got to know the winner would represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League.
To him, Asante Kotoko tested the laws of the normalization committee special competition when they revealed they wanted to play with Hearts Of Oak on home and away basis. He revealed it was good for Ghana football. “It wasn’t stated in the statues” he said when asked about the venue for the semi-finals games.
Speaking on which player has been exceptional in the Ashgold team, he revealed all the players have done well. Notable among them is one young player known as Emmanuel Owusu who joined the team not long ago. According to him, Owusu has brought a sort of impact on the team. Safiu Mumuni has also scored a lot of goals for the team.
“Against Karela, we know it is not going to be an easy game on ‘Sunday” he said. “The Len Clay sports stadium is no go area though Karela has some good players like Solomon Taylor and Dawiasie Taylor”.
“Champion has made it clear to us that, this yet we are going to Africa” he said concerning their presence on both tier one and tier two of the competition. To him , Ashantigold SC is winning both tier one and tier two.
Speaking on the perception in the media about coach Enos Adepa joining Ashantigold SC, he revealed the management has not have any conversation with any one concerning changing of coach.
“From the management, we don’t know of any player taking bribe” he said when questioned about why defender Jerry Akaminko has been warming the bench for the team. To him, the technical team are the right people to answer that.
