AFCON 2019: Nigeria, Senegal friendly to be played behind closed doors.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria and Senegal’s Terenga Lion will play their last friendly match before their TotalAFCON 2019 kick off matches behind the closed doors.

Toyin Ibitoye, Media Officer, The Super Eagles, disclosed this during a Radio interview with Brila FM on Friday.

According to him, the decision was both agreed on by coaches of the two team and as been approved by CAF.

“Both coaches agreed that the game should be played behind closed doors and this move has been backed by CAF,” Ibitoye was quoted as saying on Brila FM.

“The plan is to ensure that the game is away from public view — and overzealous challenges. He said.

Meanwhile, in the latest ranking by FIFA, Senegal is the best team in Africa after gaining one spot to land on the 22nd spot. Nigeria, dropped 3 places to 45th best best country in the world and the third in Africa.

The game between the two teams will be played 7pm, Egypt time at the Ismailia stadium, where the super eagles have been training in the last 7days.

Nigeria will leave for Alexandria Stadium, Alexandria on Monday 17th of June, venue where they will play Burundi – their first game in AFCON 2019.
