Ghana Black Stars captain, Andre Rami Morgan Dede Ayew has become Ghana’s top scorer in Africa Cup Of Nations tournaments.
He achieved this feat when he equalised for the Stars in their first group stage match against Benin at the Ismail sports stadium.
The Squirrels Of Benin took the lead early in the second minute; Being the early goal in the AFCON 2019 so far.
From an assist from his brother Jordan Ayew, Andre Ayew planted the ball into the net. The Swansea City player now has 9 goals in AFCON tournaments.
He scored his first AFCON goal against Burkina Faso on 19th January 2010. From then, the former Marseille man has continued to score for the stars. He has also scored in three consecutive opening matches for Ghana.
He scored from the spot against Teranga Lions as the Stars lost 2-1 in 2015. He scored the only goal against Uganda in the opening match in 2017 and now against Benin.
He is followed by Asamoah Gyan who has 8 goals. Osei Kuffour has 7 goals while the father of Ayew has 6 with Wilberforce Mfum. Mubarak Wakaso
