[Nigeria] Super Eagles to play Cameroon in Round of 16

Having lost the first spot of the group B to Madagascar, Nigeria will now have to face Cameroon to book a ticket for the round of 8, quarter finals.

Nigeria first lost at the competition in 9 years made the super eagles settle for second position in group B, although they were the first country to qualifier for the round of 16.

Cameroon on the other hand drew Benin today, making them lose the first position to the black stars of Ghana, who won with two unreplied goals against Guinea Bissau.

Ghana and Cameroon were on same point of 5 after one win – both against Guinea Bissau – and two draws in the group F matches. However, Ghana top the group with 4 goals scored, as both teams, Ghana and Cameroon finished with a +2 goal difference.

Both teams have met 6 times in the African Cup of Nations, with Cameroon winning 3 times and Nigeria winning 2 times. Just a draw has occured.

Both teams have met 22 times since 1960, with Nigeria winning 11 times, drawing 7 times and lost just 4 times.

Cameroon, the title holder has won the competition 5 times and Nigeria has won it just 3 times.

The game will be played in Saturday, 7th of July by 5pm(WAST) at the Alexandria stadium, where Nigeria played all their group matches
