Striker for the Black Stars of Ghana, Caleb Ekuban has apologised to Ghanaians and fans of the Black Stars around the world for his penalty miss against Tunisia in the round of 16 of the AFCON 2019.
The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia qualified to the quarter finals after beating the Black Stars of Ghana 5-4 on penalties. The Trazanspor player missed the third penalty for Ghana.
After missing the penalties, Ekuban was captured by cameras in the Ismaily sports stadium shedding tears on the field. However, the player who has two goals to his credit for Ghana has apologised to Ghanaians on his Twitter timeline. “I’m really sorry”, he posted.
The Italian-born player who made his debut appearance for Ghana against Kenya in an African Cup qualifier early this year, scored on his debut appearance. He also scored on his second cap for Ghana against Mauritania in a friendly in Accra.
