The draws for the 33rd Africa cup of Nations was picked on Thursday in Cairo Egypt as countries knows their foes and groups.
The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations host, Cameroon, will participate in the qualifiers with the team guaranteed a spot in the finals regardless of its ranking in the group. Their matches and results will count in determining the qualification of the other teams from their group.
The 48 teams were drawn into 12 groups of four teams (from Group A to Group L). Teams are consisted of the 44 teams which entered directly, in addition to the 4 winners of the preliminary round joining group A to D
Host Cameroon, Cape Verde, Mozambique and Guinea are in group F.
Group A consists of Mali of three teams that made it to 2019 Africa cup of Nations, Mali, Namibia and Guinea with the winner between Chad and Liberia completing group.
2019 AFCON surprise package, Madagascar are in group K with Ivory Coast, Niger and Chad while Algeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana make up group H.
Nigeria is in group L with Burundi, Sierra Leone and Benin who knock out Morocco in 2019 AFCON to reach the last 16.
The qualifiers will start in October with the preliminary round first while the group stage qualifiers will start in November 2019.
