The NFF Aiteo FA cup for men and women finals slated for Wednesday July 24 has been shifted forward to Sunday 28 of July.
The two finals which will take Place at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna was earlier scheduled to hold on Wednesday July 24.
Niger Tornadoes and Kano Pillars are the two finalist for the men while defending champions Rivers Angels will take on Nasarawa Amazon’s in the women’s final.
Niger Tornadoes already in Kaduna and having their training sessions at the Ranches bees Stadium will have to extend thier stay till on Sunday the new date for the finals.
NFF pick the city of Kaduna as the host of Aiteo cup men and women finals and send a later to the Kaduna State football Association.
“In view of the above, you are kindly requested to provide the following for the successful hosting of matches; 1. Provision of adequate and effective security for teams, officials, spectators before, during after the match,” a part of the letter signed by Emmanuel Adesanya on behalf of the NFF read.
The decision of the NFF to take the Cup final to Kaduna might not be unconnected with the fact that the two teams that would be playing in this year’s final, Kano Pillars and Niger Tornadoes are both from the region.
Already, the Cup final has been dubbed a Northern Derby and both Pillars and Tornadoes are keen to make up for their 2018 and 2017 misses in the finals played in Asaba and Lagos respectively.
