Kano Pillars have been drawn against Ghana league winner Asante Kotoko in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
Kano Pillars who finished second by Enyimba in the Nigeria Professional Football League to book a CAF Champions league ticket will be at home in the first leg in Kano before going to Kumasi for the return leg a week later.
Maisu Gida are yet to reach the group stage of CAF Champions league since 2009 when they lost to fellow Nigerian club Heartland FC in the semifinals of the CAF Champions league.
The kano based club will be making their sixth appearance in the CAF Champions league with 2009 been their best outing so far.
The winner between Pillars and Kotoko will take on either Etoile Sportive du Sahel of Tunisia or Guinean side Hafia FC in the second round.
