The Government of Sierra Leone have rejected the appointment of the former Ghana U-20 trainer as their head coach in less than 24 hours.
The 2009 FIFA Under 20 World Cup winner was named the new head coach of the senior national team of Sierra Leone on Tuesday.
The Sierra Leone FA announced the 62-year-old trainer as their new coach after an interview session held in the nation’s capital, Freetown last weekend.
Part of the Government letter reads “Therefore the Ministry does not recognize Sellas Tetteh as the Head Coach of the Sierra Leone National Team A because the process was incomplete,”
He was expected to assume office and take up his duties within the next 48 hours.
Coach Tetteh coached the Sierra Leone national team between 2015 to 2017
