The assistant coach of Etoile du Sahel, Mhamdi Rafik has lavished praises on the Asante Kotoko team after their first leg 2-0 lost to the porcupine warriors at the Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi.
Augustine Okrah and Richard Arthur scored on both Halves to put Kotoko on the advantage ahead of the second leg in Sousse.
“Hafia FC is not Ashanti. In Hafia the conditions were not good but we were confident in the return leg. Asante Kotoko is different (comparing the two opposition). Asante Kotoko is a modern team, a very good team but Etoile du Sahel is not easy in Sousse.”
Rafik is aware of the Asante Kotoko threat but indicated that is always difficult for opposition teams in Sousse.
“We know the opposition we have now but is a revenge in Sousse. Because this year and this season we had many problems. Problems we had Hafia and four players were not able to come with us for different reasons. But for the group, we have just a chance to qualify to the Champions league group stages in Sousse.”
Etoile du Sahel will host Asante Kotoko for the second leg in Sousse on September 27 in Sousse.
