Ghana’s Black Stars’ B moved a step into the semifinal of the West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament after defeating Burkina Faso 5-4 on Friday night. After a (1-1) stalemate at the end of proceedings saw the game move to penalty shootouts to determine the winner. AshGold goal poacher Shafiu Mumuni’s goal cancelled Ilina Teindrebeogo’s 3rd minute strike before the end of first half. A very cagey second half saw more dominance of play from both sides but no goal was produced in the second half. The dying embers of the game saw Burkina edged close of sealing a winner but effort went wide as they game ended in penalty shootouts. Opoku Agyemang failed to convert his kick but Medeama safest pair Eric Ofori Antwi who was the hero of the day as he saved two of Burkina Faso’s spot kick to send Ghana into the semi final of the competition after Ghana won 5-4.
