The GFA Executive Council will on Tuesday, 5 November 2019, elect a Vice President to assist Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku carry out his duties. The issue of the vacant vice president seat has been a hot topic for over a week with several high-profile names including Randy Abbey and Dr. Toni Aubynn linked to the position. The previous statutes conferred on the president the power to appoint his vice but with the coming into force of the new statutes, the 12-member committee will have to elect one of them to deputize the President. Frederick Acheampong, Samuel Anim Addo, George Amoako and Mark Addo have also expressed interest in the vacant position. Before the veep elections, an election must be conducted between Upper East Region FA Chairman Salifu Shaibu Zida and Central Region FA Boss Robert Duncan to determine the last slot for the regional associations on the Ghana FA Executive Council.
