former Karela United trainer has been demoted by his new boss at Ghana Premier League giants.
Newly appointed head coach of Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu has confirmed the relegation of Johnson Smith on the technical bench of the club.
Coach Smith was appointed on a two-year by the Kumasi-based outfit months ago as the club’s first assistant after a successful stint at Karela United.
His demotion comes after Coach Maxwell Konadu told the management to appoint Abdulai Gazale as the new first assistant gaffer.
“There will be changes in my backroom staff. For now Coach Abdulai Gazale will join the team as the first assistant coach,” Coach Konadu told Ghana- Kumasi Base Station Kessben FM
“Johnson Smith will be the third in command on the technical bench because a CAF license A coach can’t assist a CAF license A coach,”
“Coach Gazale holds a license A certificate whiles Smith is with a license B certificate,”
Coach Konadu will start work at the Porcupine Warriors next week.
