[Ghana] Clubs vote to maintain 18-club Ghana Premier League; 3 clubs to be relegated not FIVE

The Ghana Football Association’s congress voted to maintain the new 18-team league system beyond the 2019/20 season at the ongoing Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman School of Soccer Excellence in Prampram

Seventy-seven members of the congress voted in support of the motion of maintaining the new structure for the Ghana Premier League with only one member who was absent.

In October, King Faisal and Accra Great Olympics were reinstated into the Ghana Premier League after the Elective Congress held under the Normalization Committee led by Dr. Kofi Amoah.

Following the reinstatement of the two club, Congress opted the relegation of five clubs instead of three but has been overturned at the ongoing GFA Ordinary Congress.

Congress has amended the status of relegation and promotion where the relegation of three clubs has been reintroduced.
