Emmanuel Gyamfi’s brace in the second half and Augustine Okrah’s first half goal secured a 3-1 victory for Kotoko over Legon Cities at the Accra sports stadium in a trilling first night football of the league.
Legon Cities started well and broke the deadlock in the 11 minute of the game through Greek-Ghanaian Panagiotis Papadopoulos before Augustine Okrah levelled for the Porcupine Warriors before the break.
Two quick goals from Emmanuel Gyamf in a dominated second half sealed 3-1 victory for Kotoko.
Speaking to the media after the game, head coach Maxwell Konadu had this to say:
“It was a good game, we played much better in the second half.”
“They (Legon Cities) started 4-3-3 with two holding midfielders and that gave us problems, we came with an antidote in the second half and dominated the game.”
The gaffer was impressed with his holding striker’s play.
