Table-topping Medeama SC were held by Liberty Professionals as both sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Carl Reindorf Park this afternoon.
Super substitute Nana Babil’s goal canceled Elvis Baffour’s goal as Medeama dropped their first points of the season.
The first game of match day three started in an unfortunate fashion as both Liberty Professionals and Medeama had to make forced substitutions when they lost their players to injuries.
An action-packed second half saw Liberty Professionals up thr ante threatening to net the opener but failed with their attempts at goal.
But it was a case of when and not how for the home side when substitute Wayo was tripped in the box only for Elvis Baffour to coolly slot home from the penalty spot after 54 minutes.
The wind of change blew quickly and in favor of Medeama as coach Samuel Boadu threw in super substitute Nana Babil and it proved to be a wise decision as the young goal poacher netted the equalizer for Medeama in the 78th minute.
Despite the efforts made by both sides to snatch the win it proved futile as the three additional minutes to the regulation time was not enough to separate both sides.
Medeama consolidate their stranglehold at the summit of the table albeit playing one more game than their closest contenders with a draw and most importantly maintain their unbeaten run.
