Red Arrows Football Club of Zambia has shown gratitude to its long serving members of the team ahead of the 2020/2021 football season for their invaluable contributions to the club and Zambian football at large.

Speaking Friday evening at the Club Secretariat when he announced the release of some long-serving players and a young goalkeeper on loan for development, Red Arrows FC Chairman Colonel Innocent JERE said Arrows was highly indebted for the invaluable contributions that the players made to the team and Nation through out their long faithful football journey considering that most if not all of them played for the national team.

“As we part ways and release you today, Arrows is highly indebted for the huge and invaluable contributions you made to the team and the Nation throughout this long faithful football journey. Your names and contributions will forever remain in the Zambia national football team and Arrows book of legends. Arrows still remain your home and we can only wish you the best of luck in your new roles to come or indeed your future endeavours,” added Col JERE.

Among those released are veteran Daniel ‘Deco’ Sibanda, Bronson Chama, Joseph ‘Joliba’ Zimba, Jimmy Chisenga, goal minder Danny Munyao, midfielder Evans Musonda, defender Webster Mulenga and Roderick Zimba. Others are Alex Sichone and young goalkeeper McLean Nkhoma who has been sent on loan for development.

And in the spirit of gratitude, the club has offered Chama, Sibanda, Munyao and Mulenga a rare option to be elevated to various technical roles within the various Arrows teams.

The Chairman also said he had no doubt that the development was going to open a new chapter at Arrows as well as give those released another better way to contribute to football from their various experiences. He disclosed that Arrows was currently engaged in high-level transfer bids with other clubs which will soon be concluded.

Arrows are scheduled to resume preparations for the 2020/21 season on Monday, 07 September 2020 and several pre-season activities have been lined up ahead of the league that is expected to commence on 17 October 2020.
