The highly anticipated second international friendly match between the Copper Queens and Chile Women National Team has been cancelled following four reported Covid-19 positive cases in the Zambian team.
Zambia had been due to take on Chile at 23:30 hours Central African Time (CAT) but the organizers have called off the game.
A second set of tests have been conducted with results being awaited.
Chile Women’s league manager for National Federal of Chile Constanza Minoletti told FAZ media from Santiago that according to the regulations in Chile a game cannot take place if some players test positive prior to the engagement.
Zambia and Chile played the first international friendly on Saturday with the Copper Queens winning 2-1.
The Copper Queens are using the match to prepare for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games that will be staged next year.
